First off, that was months ago.

Second, in Japanese, it is spelled 雲母. Using Hepburn romanization, this would be spelled as "Kirara". In Japanese, the "R" and "L" letters are pronounced the same way, and are written as the same alphabetic character. The pronunciation is a cross between the English "R" and "L" sounds, which is why picking one or the other for translations can be difficult.

In the English dubbed version, this character's name is pronounced "Kilala". And yet, episode 97 is titled "Kirara Come Home". So it's not hard to see where the controversy comes from.

lol it's okay. I just don't want people to fight so I wanted to explain it. I accept both spellings now, BUT I don't like it when people think their way is right.

Well the Japanese version is Kirara but in my english version anime it is definately Kilala which is the version I prefer. I go by anime names not manga names as I don't read the manga versions.

Okay ^^ Both can be used. :la:

Well, you see, unless you're already aware of this, the Japanese language does not make usage of the letter L and any word containing it will usually be replaced with an R, therefore it's possible that fansubs will use "Kirara", whereas the dub will use "Kilala". Just so you know. :giggle:

I'm not trying to be rude or anything.

I know. I studied Japanese for 5 years. I prefer the English versions of the character names. And also in the official madman version of the anime, they definately call him Kilala (not Kirara) so that's what I also call him.
